Description of Webinar -Engaging Young People in God Talk
According to current research, one factor leading to young people leaving the Church is the lack of opportunity to talk about faith issues! This webinar will provide participants with practical skills on how to use symbol, analogy, and metaphor in engaging young people in God talk.
Dr. McCarty will identify spiritual practices, faith skills, and rituals that enable young people to ‘talk’ about God and faith and to live out their discipleship. Participants will consider the importance of creating space for deep conversations for young people so that questions and doubts can be verbalized and understand the underlying pedagogy of connecting life to faith to life, enhancing our pastoral and catechetical efforts in a school setting.
