Description of Liturgical Ministries
The Office of Worship offers six hour formation sessions for new and experienced Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion and Readers. In the morning of the first Saturday, ministers are introduced to sacramental theology, particularly that of the Eucharist by Rev. David Pettingill. Next, our presenters who are experts in the field, offer technical and spiritual direction for the minister’s specific liturgical role. Finally, extraordinary ministers prepare for bringing Holy Communion to the sick and homebound, while readers conclude with coaching in proclamation and oral interpretation.
