Description of Csj -Catholic Schools AS Holy Ground
This session will develop the theme of Catholic school as “Holy Ground” through an examination of the core beliefs of Catholicism, the CSJ Educational Network values of Catholic Identity, Excellence, Justice and Dignity which flow from Catholic values, and the idea of the classroom environment as sacred space.
There is also an examination of the issues around conflict within any faith community and how conflict resolution can support the themes of holy ground and sacred space.
Finally, there is an examination of current educational questions and how such discussions amongst faculty and staff can broaden a school’s understanding of how the school creates holy ground and a strong Catholic culture in the schools.
