Description of Catholic Identity and School Culture
The Workshop Focuses on the requisite Catholic Identity factors present in a Catholic school, that are needed to faithfully llive out, and communicate the Gospel message of Jesus to its consituent groups. Practical applications are discussed on home to integrate Catholic Identity factors into the overall school culture and into individual classroom settings. Such factors allow for the successful integration of faith into the lives of students and families. The Catholic Identity factors presented and discussed include: school mission and philosophy, experiencex of prayer and liturgy, use of USCCB required Religion curriculum, catechetical formation of teachers, parental partnership in religious education, widespread use of the signs, symbls, sacramentals, traditions and rituals of the Church, service orientation for students, and social justice teachings.
