Description of Convocation 2025
The Department of Catholic Schools and the Office of Catholic Identity Assessment & Formation are pleased to share the theme for this year's Archdiocesan High School Convocation!
Our Convocation on Friday, March 7, 2025 will return to the “Five Essential Marks of Catholic Schools,” specifically Mark 4: Imbued with a Catholic Worldview Throughout the Curriculum. “Catholicism is a ‘comprehensive way of life’ that should animate every aspect of a school’s activities and its curriculum.” (Miller) We are excited to welcome our keynote speaker, Dr. Brett Salkeld, educator, theologian, and author of the book Educating for Eternity: Making Every Class Catholic. Our day will include subject-area discussion, mass in the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption with Archbishop Cordileone, and conclude with exposition and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Please see the schedule below. In preparation for the day, we invite you to read the brief article “Catholicism Makes Everything Interesting” by Dr. Salkeld from the Church Life Journal. Feel free to contact Ryan Mayer in the Office of Catholic Identity should you have any questions: [email protected].
