Description of Good Shepherd School Faculty Retreat
The primary goal of this retreat is to familiarize faculty and staff with the tradition of Catholic social teaching to develop skills for critical reading and appropriation. To make these tenets real lived experiences within the classroom and community.
We will examine the seven principles 1) Rights of Workers, 2) Rights and Responsibilities, 3) Option for the Poor and Vulnerable, 4) Care of Creation, 5) Call to Family and Community, 6) Solidarity, and 7) Dignity of the Human Person, as well as papal, conciliar, and episcopal texts.
We will also hold recurring themes in conversation with the broader theoretical framework of Catholic social thought. The goal is to make these principles real, lived experiences within the classroom and community.
